The Stratford Fire and Rescue recently received a contribution from the NEW Cooperative Foundation totaling $2,500. The funds will be put towards the department’s recent purchase of a new fire truck. NEW Cooperative also presented an additional $2,500 in matching funds from CoBank.
“The replacement of this fire truck will be a great asset to our department as our old truck is nearly 40 years old. said Brad Westrum, Stratford Fire and Rescue Director. “Stratford regularly gets called for mutual aid response into Webster County from Dayton, Duncombe, Lehigh, Harcourt and occasionally Otho. Updated equipment will help us remain reliable to our community and surrounding communities.”
“NEW Cooperative is happy to assist help the purchase of the new fire truck,” stated NEW Cooperative Foundation Director, Gary Moritz. “We are happy to lend a helping hand in their fundraising efforts by giving $2,500 contribution from our foundation and $2,500 in matching funds from CoBank.”
