NEW Cooperative is pleased to announce the winners of the NEW Cooperative Agriculture Scholarship.
This year’s eight $2,000 scholarship winners are Calvin Carlson, son of Tom and Sara Carlson of Humboldt, Terra Heilman, daughter of John and Jana Heilman from Cushing, Andrew Klaassen, son of Dale and Julie Klaassen from Pomeroy, Cameron O’Connell, son of Eric and Jennifer O’Connell from Anthon, Kyle Poen, son of Kevin and Lynn Poen from Lake City, Benjamin Quade, son of Tim and Susan Quade from Manson, Bryce Rasmussen, son of James and Dawn Rasmussen from Goldfield, and Hunter Riedesel, son of Brian and Rhonda Riedesel from Churdan.
“These students are the future of our agriculture industry. We are proud to support them in their college journey and can’t wait to see what they accomplish in the future,” said NEW Cooperative General Manager, Dan Dix.
NEW Cooperative, Inc. a farmer-owned grain, agronomy, energy and feed cooperative headquartered in Fort Dodge, Iowa with their scholarship program, now on its 26th year of proudly supporting the college education of area students. In that time, more than 150 scholarships have been awarded. The $2,000 scholarship is to aid full-time students who are pursuing their college education in an agriculture program. The NEW Cooperative Foundation awards the scholarships to students who demonstrate outstanding leadership, scholastics and a strong desire to pursue a career in agriculture. Each year, students planning to enroll as a full time student in an agricultural college program at a Midwest college, and who are dependents of NEW Cooperative members or employees are eligible to apply to receive a scholarship. This includes graduating high school seniors, as well as college freshmen through juniors.
