Woolstock Fire Department Receives a Donation from NEW Cooperative

Fort Dodge, IA- NEW Cooperative teamed up with Land O’Lakes to donate a total of $5,000 to the Woolstock Fire Department to go towards the purchase of a thermal imaging camera.

Thermal imaging cameras use infrared radiation to form an image much like how a normal camera which uses visible light to form an image. Because thermal imaging cameras use infrared radiation they can see through smoke to detect people and find potential sources of the fire and hotspots.

Every year fires devastate Iowa communities, this donation is intended to stop some of this devastation and enhance the Woolstock Fire Department. It is extremely important to NEW Cooperative to improve the communities of our membership area. By working together with other local businesses this donation can help to save the lives and homes of the citizens that are affected by fire every year.
