In an effort to assist the local town of Renwick in purchasing new playground equipment, NEW Cooperative Foundation has donated $1,000 to the Renwick Project Playground. Led by parents in the community, the Renwick Project Playground is raising funds needed to replace the current 30 year old playground equipment which has become outdated and unsafe. Before the start of the most recent Renwick City Council meeting, Renwick Project Playground parents and children in the community gathered to accept the donation from the NEW Cooperative Foundation. The donation was presented by Wayne McMannus, Board member for NEW Cooperative.
The Renwick Project Playground, which is also recognized as a non-profit organization, is well on its way to fulfilling its mission of providing safe and reliable playground equipment. Plans are to begin assembling the new equipment this summer in the park where the current playground is located. NEW Cooperative Foundation is proud to be a part of this fundraising effort and supporting projects such as this that better our local communities. If you are interested in supporting the Renwick Project Playground, money donations can be dropped off at the Renwick City Hall.
