NEW Cooperative, Inc. a farmer-owned grain, agronomy, energy and feed cooperative headquartered in Fort Dodge, Iowa is pleased to announce that seven students have been selected to receive a NEW Cooperative scholarship. The $2,000 scholarship is to aid the students in pursuing their college education in an agriculture program. The NEW Cooperative Foundation awards the scholarships to students who demonstrate outstanding leadership, scholastics and a strong desire to pursue a career in agriculture. This year’s scholarship winners are Oliver Connor, son of Matt and Rhonda Conner from Glidden, Jacob Grandgeorge, son of Bob and Camilla Grandgeorge from Woolstock, William Kellner son of Dean and Liz Kellner from Livermore, Zackery Leist, son of Kelly and Shannon Leist from Clarion, Tiffany Poen, daughter of Kevin and Lynn Poen from Lake City, Devin Wagner, son of Robert and Sherry Wagner from Rolfe, and Dyllan Walton, son of Randy and Kyndra Walton from Clear Lake.
The NEW Cooperative scholarship program, now in its 25th year, is a proud to be supporting the college education of area students. In that time, more than $270,000 has been awarded. Each year, students planning to enroll as a full time student in an agricultural college program at a Midwest college, and who are dependents of NEW Cooperative members or employees are eligible to apply to receive a scholarship. This includes graduating high school seniors, as well as college freshmen thru juniors. NEW Cooperative General Manager Dan Dix states “These students are the future of our agriculture industry. We are proud to support them in their college journey and can’t wait to see what they accomplish in the future.”
