OPERATIONS:

  • Responsible for dispatching of all custom application equipment.
    • Provides direction to agronomy operations with regards to the timing of application while taking into account weather concerns and customer requests.
  • Responsible for all agronomy equipment, equipment maintenance, and maintenance record keeping.
  • In charge of all training of custom applicators, hiring and training of outside private applicators.
    • Ensures that all continuing education requirements are met
  • Maintains all custom operator incentive programs and is responsible for all payments to private operators.
  • Ensures all custom operators are properly licensed for the tasks required.
  • Oversees aerial applicators for proper documentation of insurance and licensing
  • Participates in custom application claims review process
    • Follows proper reporting procedures and communicates with all persons involved
  • Responsible for the correct calibration of all company-owned equipment and maintains records for such.
  • Responsible for all bulk pesticide handling equipment, and the proper transportation of such equipment.

Description: To apply crop protection products and fertilizers, deliver agronomy products, assist in the grain department and provide related customer services in a safe and effective manner.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities: Include but not limited to the following:

  • Maintain a safe work environment as outlined by NEW Cooperative’s policies and procedures
  • Assist in loading and unloading of vehicles based on work orders
  • Operate post spraying equipment, tender trucks, other application equipment such as NH3 equipment
  • Assist in the maintenance of equipment
  • Operate a semi-truck in the off-season
  • Assist in other areas of location during the off-season (i.e. grain, fertilizer, chemical, seed)

Job Requirements:

  • Must be licensed and insurable to drive
  • Must have or be able to obtain a Class A CDL with Tanker/HazMat/Doubles/Triples endorsements
  • Must have or be able to obtain a Commercial Applicator’s License
  • Understand the importance of providing very high levels of customer service
  • Understand the seasonality of the farm supply business and the in-season time commitment
  • Good computer skills
  • Must be able to interact and effectively communicate with customers and individuals at all levels of the organization
  • Must have problem-solving skills as well as being self-motivated
  • Demonstrate great interest serving in the agricultural industry

  • Operate tender trucks and other application equipment such as NH3 applicator when needed
