Safe feed produced in our well-managed mills NEW Cooperative mills ensure safety all along the path from farm to table. Our operations have long been CGMP compliant as defined by the US Food and Drug Administration and, more recently, we chose to be proactive in our approach to the Food Safety Modernization Act, adopting HACCP standards.
Hazard analysis and critical control points (HACCP) is a systematic approach to food safety that started when NASA asked Pillsbury to develop food for the first space flights. Nowadays it’s a scientific approach applied at all stages of the food chain including production, packaging, and distribution. The meat industry’s HACCP programs are regulated by the USDA. HACCP in the feed industry is completely voluntary and NEW Cooperative Feed Department adopted it early to underwrite our commitment to safe food.
